Dylan Raiola will be a Georgia Bulldog.

The 5-star quarterback from Phoenix (Az.) Pinnacle announced his commitment to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs on his social media Monday. Raiola is the No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2024 and picked Georgia from a list of finalists that also included Nebraska, USC, and Oregon. Raiola was, at one time, committed to Ryan Day and Ohio State before backing off that months-long pledge last December.

USC hoped to make a run at him and made things interesting late, but the Bulldogs won out.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound thrower is a 5-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s viewed as a can’t-miss prospect with the ability to make every throw on the field and the frame necessary to excel. Raiola is a Nebraska legacy — his father was an All-American for the Huskers in the late 90s and early 2000s — but was said to have seriously entertained USC.

Elijah Brown, a 4-star from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is now the top-ranked uncommitted 2024 quarterback. He holds a USC offer and is set to take an official visit in June.

USC’s 2024 class is off to a much slower start, with only three known commitments, but that could pick up if Brown were to jump into the boat. After signing 5-star quarterback Malachi Nelson in the 2023 class, the Trojans’ future looks set either way. Caleb Williams is likely to star in college for one more season before moving to the NFL; when he does, Nelson will take over as the leader of Lincoln Riley’s offense.

Oregon has a 2024 quarterback verbally pledged to the class already in 3-star Luke Moga. The Ducks also added a top-150 thrower to the team from the 2023 class in Austin Novosad.
