Through last week, the Apple offer to the Pac-12 was the only known media rights package available. But now John Ourand of Sports Business Journal is out with details from the likes of ESPN, FOX Sports and CBS.

FOX’s bid was for a package of just 13 football games, for which it said it would pay around $35-$40 million per year. That was for what it considered part of the conference’s “B” package. Although details were unknown, ESPN reportedly offered a “significant package” more than a year ago, and the Pac-12 presidents rejected it. Then after ESPN struck a deal with the Big 12, a smaller bid was offered in recent weeks.

One idea was for ESPN and Amazon to share an “A” package, but Amazon didn’t submit a bid.

CBS’ bid was for a small number of basketball games. NBC didn’t submit a bid.

Ourand added that the media landscape shifted in the last year as Wall Street put more of an emphasis on profits and not subscriber numbers, and there were layoffs. That caused the networks to be more disciplined with their offers.
