College Football Playoff rankings: Oregon, UCLA fall after upsets
The College Football Playoff is drawing near. Two regular-season games remain before we hit conference championship weekend. The CFP selection show takes place on Sunday, Dec. 4.
It’s starting to matter how close you are to the top four, and the Pac-12’s last remaining hope to make the field sits at No. 7 in the selection committee’s latest set of rankings, released Tuesday night on ESPN.
USC moved up one spot to become the Pac-12’s highest-ranked team in the rankings after Oregon lost to Washington at home on Saturday, 37-34. The Ducks tumbled from No. 6 down to No. 12 with the loss.
UCLA also dropped down the board after a 34-28 loss to Arizona at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins slid from No. 12 to No. 16.
Washington jumped from No. 25 all the way up to No. 17 with its win. Utah also rose three spots to No. 10 after beating Stanford 42-7 for its fourth consecutive win. Oregon State also moved back into the ranking after beating Cal 38-10 on Saturday to move to 7-3 on the season.
In total, the Pac-12 has six teams ranked.
