The 2023 NCAA softball tournament started Friday, May 19 and the pac-12 had a fairly strong showing.

Of the 6 Pac-12 teams to crack the Field of 64, 4 won the first day. There was some huge surprise though, as UCLA fell on Day 1 3-2 to Grand Canyon. The Missouri Tigers downed Cal as well.

But, the tournament is double elimination to start for a reason. UCLA still has a great chance to escape their regional as the No. 2 team in the country, but Cal may run into some problems as we head forward, especially in the same regional as Oklahoma.

Below are the start times and TV info for Saturday’s 6 Pac-12 matchups, all times PT:

  • Oregon vs. No. 11 Arkansas: 12 p.m. on ESPN2
  • No. 15 Utah vs. Ole Miss: 12 p.m. on ESPN+
  • No. 7 Washington vs. McNeese: 2 p.m. on ESPNU
  • Florida vs. No. 9 Stanford: 2 p.m. on ESPN
  • Cal vs. Hofstra: 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+
  • No. 2 UCLA vs. Liberty: 4:30 p.m on ESPN+

Washington seems to be in especially good shape right now, as McNeese beat the Seattle regional’s 2-seed (Minnesota) 5-4 on Day 1. Should the Huskies take care of business against McNeese today, they’ll be in excellent shape heading into Day 3.

Oregon, Utah and Stanford face very important days, too. The Ducks face the toughest opponent of the bunch, but putting up against your regional’s host team is nearly unavoidable in this tournament. Long story short, the Ducks knew this was coming!

Should be in for a good one, softball fans!
