More Pac-12 teams could be leaving the conference.

College football insider Brett McMurphy of Action Network reports that Arizona State and Utah are “showing interest” in jumping ship to the Big 12.

Friday’s development does not come as a surprise. The Big 12 has long shown interest in the Pac-12’s “Four Corners” schools. Colorado was the first to make the move. Arizona was then identified as the next primary target to become the Big 12’s 14th member, with the conference’s executives reportedly voting to approve Arizona’s application for membership.

Arizona and Arizona State share the same Board of Regents, along with Northern Arizona. With the application approved, Arizona’s status is in the hands of the regents.

The Pac-12 appears to be crumbling, with Oregon and Washington off to join USC and UCLA in the Big Ten. We’ll see if the Big 12 decides to go for 16 members and add ASU & Utah for 2024.
