After a weekend sweep of their in-state rival, Oregon State has officially ascended to the very top of college baseball.

The Beavers officially reached No. 1 in the Baseball America Top 25, released Monday. It’s the first time Oregon State has held the top spot in that particular ranking since its national championship season in 2018.

The Beavers are 38-9 on the season and 18-6 in the Pac-12 after sweeping the regular-season series with Oregon (28-19, 13-11), winning two non-conference games in Eugene before the three-game sweep at Goss Stadium.

Since losing to Gonzaga on April 18, Oregon State has been on an absolute tear, winning 11 of its last 12. It has also won 17 of its last 19 games dating back to April 5.

The Pac-12 Tournament begins on Wednesday, May 25. As things stand, Oregon State is three games clear of second-place Stanford with seven to play.

The Beavers have a mid-week tilt with Portland on Tuesday before a trip to Tucson to face Arizona in a three-game weekend series. The Beavers are 21-3 away from Corvallis this year.
