Oregon State loses starting offensive lineman to season-ending injury
Oregon State left guard Heneli Bloomfield will miss Saturday’s game against Oregon after suffering a season-ending injury in the Beavers’ 22-20 loss to Washington.
DJ Uiagalelei’s father shared a message on social media Monday revealing that Bloomfield will miss the rest of the year with an injury. He thanked Bloomfield for the role he played this season in helping the Beavers to an 8-3 record and a top-15 ranking in the country. Bloomfield is a sixth-year senior who began his career at Utah State before transferring to Oregon State.
Bloomfield has started every game for the Beavs this season.
I just want to personally thank @heneli64 for all he did for my son DJ and his OS brotherhood. He suffered a season ending injury and I would like to take this time to honor Heneli Bloomfield #58 and let him know, he played a huge part in the success of the OL. According to Pro Football Focus, Bloomfield is the fourth-highest-graded guard in the Pac-12 this season. He has played every single offensive snap at left guard and has only been charged with allowing three quarterback hits all season. He’s been a major force on the interior as a run-blocker as well.
Oregon State’s offensive line is a finalist for the Joe Moore Award this season as the top unit in the country. That unit has helped pave the way for a rushing attack that ranks 11th nationally in per-play efficiency.
With Bloomfield out of action, the attention shifts to Grant Starck, who has seen reps at both guard spots this season but is also dealing with an injury. Starck did not see the field against Washington.
