Oregon State got good news Saturday. West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade linebacker Isaiah Chisom announced he has committed to the Beavers.

Chisom took an official visit to campus back on June 3, then visited Cal two weeks later. He chose the Beavers from a final five that included the Golden Bears as well as Fresno State, USC, and Utah.

A 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker, Chisom rates as a 3-star in the Top247, the in-house ratings system for 247Sports. He doesn’t yet have a 247 Composite score, but expect that to change soon now that he’s joining a Power Five class. He’s ranked as the 48th-best linebacker in the 2023 class and the 56th-best prospect from California, regardless of position.

Chisom appears to be the kind of linebacker that can move all over, though he plays in the middle of the Chaminade defense. He can rush the passer or play out in space. As a junior last fall, he produced 111 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception.

His commitment gives Oregon State its 16th known commitment for the 2023 class. You can view Chisom’s highlight tape below, via Hudl:
