The Beavers have their quarterback for the 2023 class.

Aidan Chiles, a 3-star dual-threat quarterback from Downey (Calif.), announced his commitment to Oregon State on Thursday. He was most recently at Washington State on an official visit and had planned visits to Kansas State and Washington in the coming weeks, but it’s the Beavers who were too hard to beat at the end of the day.

Standing 6-foot-4, 195-pounds, Chiles is an agile threat to run the ball in a prototypical quarterback package. During the spring evaluation period, he saw his recruitment take off. The Beavers, however, were on him from the get-go—the first Power Five team to extend an offer.

As a junior, Chiles played in only six games (injury) and completed 73% of his passes for 1,187 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 31 times for 344 yards and four scores. Expect him to continue to show progress as he takes the reins full-time for his high school.

Here’s what 247Sports’ Greg Biggins had to say on Chiles:

“He’s just scratching the surface and gets better every time we see him. … He has made big strides as a pocket passer and brings the element of being able to extend plays and run around and pick up big yards on the ground as well. He’s a big personality, a natural leader and someone teammates gravitate towards. We think he’s a future captain at Oregon State and has a chance to have a very nice career in Corvallis.”

The pledge brings Oregon State’s 2023 class up to four known commitments. You can view Chiles’ highlight tape below, via Hudl:
