Oregon State disrespected: College GameDay slammed for not featuring Week 12 matchup vs. Washington
Oregon State felt it had a very strong case to host ESPN’s traveling pregame show in Corvallis next weekend when it hosts Washington.
The Beavers entered Week 11 ranked No. 12 in the country and promptly dismantled Stanford. The fifth-ranked Huskies outlasted Utah in Seattle for a 35-28 win to move to 10-0 on the season. They’ll head to Corvallis in Week 12 for a game that carries significant Pac-12 title implications.
GameDay will instead head to Harrisonburg, Virginia, to highlight James Madison, a 10-0 team taking on App State.
It will be the first GameDay visit since 2017.
GameDay has only been to Corvallis one time in the show’s history — Dec. 4, 2010, when Oregon State hosted then-No. 1 Oregon. It looked like the upcoming Week 12 contest, which is set to be broadcast on ABC at 4:30 p.m. PT next Saturday, would be a natural selection for the pregame show. But that was not the case.
Fans and media covering the Beavers were not happy about the decision from ESPN.
Sound off y'all – I'm hot over this one, seems like ESPN clearly ducked OSU https://t.co/s1RwKuHZGs

I suspect ESPN r-e-a-l-l-y didn't want to spend a few hours figuring out ways not to talk about the dissolution of the Pac-12 in Corvallis next weekend. https://t.co/2JxBcdtiWx

The level of disrespect for Oregon State is beyond bizarre at this point. Huge miss not being on hand for the Washington game. https://t.co/tj17bcONOe

Look, JMU is an awesome story. But passing on Oregon State-Washington is… a choice. https://t.co/NFb4jxODrL

James Madison’s best win is against 2-8 virginia
Oregon State’s best win is against 7-3 Utah
UW is ranked 5th, OSU is ranked 12th
James Madison isn’t ranked, App State isn’t ranked
OSU-UW is 4:30 primetime on ABC
JM-AS is on ESPN + at 11:00
Guess where college gameday is?

Absolute joke from ESPN. Missing out on top-10 matchup https://t.co/Sr77rn1W5f

I guess they don’t want to have to address the elephant in the room

GameDay going to a campus where the team isn't even eligible for a bowl instead of Corvallis, OR where a possible Top 10 match up will take place.

Never again will I watch college gameday…they know damn well it should be in Corvallis for top 12 Oregon State vs top 5 UW in the last Pac-12 game to be had at Reser Stadium. A game that is on ABC. ESPN is run by clowns. 🤡 #gobeavs https://t.co/0QrhaRELd2

College Gameday is going to James Madison next week, many thought it was coming to Corvallis for the top 10 showdown with Washington. The disrespect continues. #GoBeavs 🦫

So wait you going to JMU vs App State, but passing on 2 Top 25 matchups between Washington vs Oregon State or Utah vs Arizona? Smh.. https://t.co/KdJwTby0KN
— Big Game Wildcat (@BigGameWildcat) November 12, 2023
damn if only there was another 10-0 team playing next week against a very good conference opponent

I wonder why ESPN wouldn't travel to Corvallis for a potential top-10 matchup, it's almost like they want people to forget why Oregon State's not in a conference https://t.co/IYLASTnjnp

LOL! Congrats to JMU…..but so weak by ESPN… https://t.co/6G7yLHAULn

ESPN passes on 10-0 UW at 8-2 Oregon State to go to James Madison. Being told it's not the first time they overlooked Oregon State. https://t.co/wkm2MWh81i

ESPN….What are you doing? What a monumental miss not coming to #Corvallis for the #OregonState vs #Washington game. https://t.co/frViCuabiX

Monumental miss to not come to Corvallis for a top 10 matchup next week. But I guess @espn is scared to give @BeaverFootball any viewership. How sad. #GoBeavs https://t.co/sEAKRAkt7N
