Oregon State felt it had a very strong case to host ESPN’s traveling pregame show in Corvallis next weekend when it hosts Washington.

The Beavers entered Week 11 ranked No. 12 in the country and promptly dismantled Stanford. The fifth-ranked Huskies outlasted Utah in Seattle for a 35-28 win to move to 10-0 on the season. They’ll head to Corvallis in Week 12 for a game that carries significant Pac-12 title implications.

GameDay will instead head to Harrisonburg, Virginia, to highlight James Madison, a 10-0 team taking on App State.

It will be the first GameDay visit since 2017.

GameDay has only been to Corvallis one time in the show’s history — Dec. 4, 2010, when Oregon State hosted then-No. 1 Oregon. It looked like the upcoming Week 12 contest, which is set to be broadcast on ABC at 4:30 p.m. PT next Saturday, would be a natural selection for the pregame show. But that was not the case.

Fans and media covering the Beavers were not happy about the decision from ESPN.
