Oregon State dials up trick play touchdown for offensive lineman vs. San Diego State
Oregon State might mess around and win offensive tackle Joshua Gray the Piesman Trophy.
In the second quarter of Saturday’s matchup with San Diego State, the 16th-ranked Beavers dipped into their bag a bit. DJ Uiagalelei took a first-and-goal snap and everything flowed to his right.
Gray drifted back from his spot at left tackle, then hauled in a throwback pass from Uiagalelei, and walked in for a touchdown.
It officially goes down as a 3-yard rushing score for Gray.

It’s the first career touchdown for Gray, a redshirt junior from Rancho Cucamonga, California. The 6-foot-4 tackle was an All-Pac-12 performer last season for the Beavers, and has started every game Oregon State has played since the start of the 2020 campaign.
On Saturday, the Beavers took quite a journey to get to their 12 first-half points.
They kicked a field goal, kicked a second field goal, scored on a reception from an offensive lineman, then failed to convert a two-point play. Someone put Scorigami on notice.
Oregon State (2-0) and San Diego State (2-1) are battling over on FS1.
