Luke Musgrave is off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft, landing with the Green Bay Packers on Day 2 of the action! He is the third TE off the board in Round 2, following Iowa’s Sam LaPorta and Notre Dame’s Michael Mayer.

The Packers eventually selected Musgrave with the 42nd overall pick (11th pick of the second round) in the draft. Listed at 6-foot-6 and 253 pounds with a strong athleticism score, the Packers will be looking for Musgrave to be a key piece to work with Jordan Love as he takes over the starting QB role in Green Bay.

There’s no denying the elite pass-catching and game-breaking ability of Musgrave, but the big question for the TE is his ability to stay healthy. He was limited throughout his career at Oregon State.

Nevertheless, in 47 career catches, Musgrave had 633 yards for an average of 13.5 yards per catch from his TE position with 2 touchdowns. There’s no denying he is a matchup problem for defenses if he is able to stay on the field.

During this year’s Senior Bowl, Musgrave drew impressive reviews as one of the top combinations of size and speed on the field in Mobile. We’ll see if he’s able to make that combination translate into NFL success.
