Beloved retro logo returns to Oregon State's helmet for homecoming game
Benny is back.
The beloved Oregon State Beavers logo is making its return to the team’s helmet for this weekend’s homecoming game against Washington State. The program revealed the helmet earlier this week — a black base with an orange decal — much to the amusement of the fanbase.

For nearly 50 years, that version of Benny was the Beavers’ primary logo. It debuted in 1951 and was updated a decade later. In 1998, the program made the move away. In 2013, the team modernized the Beaver logo to what it is today.
More than a few in Beaver Nation want to see the logo brought back full-time.
For starters, though, they’ll take a win.
Oregon State matches up with Washington State this weekend in a game that will see one side climb back to .500 in Pac-12 play. Both teams enter at 4-2 on the season and 1-2 in the conference. The Beavers got their first win in Pac-12 play last weekend when they shocked Stanford with a 56-yard touchdown pass from Ben Gulbranson to Tre’Shaun Harrison with 13 seconds left to win 28-27.
Kickoff against the Cougars is set for 6 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Network.
