Oregon has us fired up.

Hours before its opener against No. 3 Georgia in Atlanta, the Ducks dropped one of the best hype videos you’ll see all season, complete with Spencer Webb highlights, bone-crushing hits from Noah Sewell, Dan Lanning quotes that will leave you ready to run through a wall, and the “Stranger Things” remix of Journey’s masterpiece “Separate Ways.”

“You control your circumstance. You earn it,” Lanning says in the video. “Those stars, you didn’t bring them out on this field. All you’ve got (are) them cleats, them shoulder pads, that jersey. That’s it. Line up every day and earn yours.”

The Ducks will battle the defending national champions in the third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs Saturday at 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC.

It’s a tall task in a season-opener for any team in any kind of situation. Making the situation tougher is the fact Oregon is breaking in a first-year head coach with a new staff and transfers starting in key spots — including presumably at quarterback.

But Oregon has spent the last month with a laser focus on the Bulldogs. The outside noise didn’t register, the outside expectations didn’t matter, Lanning kept the main thing the main thing, as coaches like to say.

“We don’t really bother ourselves about the opinions of others,” Lanning said earlier this week. “Nobody in Vegas is going to play in this game. Our players are going to play in this game. We know what everyone thinks about our team, and that’s OK by us.”

The Ducks are ready to shock the world.
