Oregon and Washington went into the halftime break at 13-10. UW had a three-point lead thanks to a field goal from Peyton Henry in the final two minutes of the second quarter.

The third quarter looked more like what we expected to see. Oregon and Washington exchanged haymakers in a frame that featured 35 combined points and 14 combined explosive plays.

Bo Nix got things rolling with a 46-yard bomb to Dont’e Thornton to go up 17-13.

Washington answered back with a 10-play, 65-yard drive and a 3-yard rushing score from Cameron Davis to take the lead back and go up 20-17.

So Oregon hit back with a six-play, 76-yard drive and a 29-yard touchdown run from Noah Whittington to go up 24-20.

On the second play of Washington’s very next possession, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. hit Ja’Lynn Polk for a 76-yard touchdown to take the lead right back.

Once again, Oregon answered. Nix hit Troy Frankling on a 67-yard bomb to go up 31-27 and cap a four-play, 89-yard drive with another massive score.

The annual matchup between Pacific Northwest rivals absolutely lived up to the billing. The two sides combined for 478 yards of total offense in the third quarter alone. Oregon averaged an absurd 17.5 yards per play while Washington averaged 11.7.
