WATCH: Dan Lanning scooters around campus checking on Ducks during bye week
Hard to ignore the smiles that emerge when Dan Lanning greets his team.
With the Ducks on their bye week this week — sitting at 5-1 on the heels of five straight victories — the schedule is a little different. Naturally, Oregon had a little more time for something more lighthearted. Monday evening, the Ducks’ creative team shared a video of the head coach riding around campus on a scooter, going to check on various players to make sure they’re staying on top of things in the classroom.

It’s hard not to root for Lanning at this point. In a short time as a head coach, he’s mostly hit all the right notes. The Ducks opened the season with a loss, but they’ve gotten better each week since. Problems that arise on Saturdays are acknowledged and then hammered away at during the weeks in practice.
Lanning has clearly and quickly won over the locker room, and he seems to be making the program about the right things.
Many are taking notice.
I worked in the SSA (Services for Student Athletes) at Oregon as a tutor for a year and never once saw a coach do this. @CoachDanLanning is changing the culture. Love it coach! Go Ducks! https://t.co/5xcFX5GpR3
