Ty Thompson shares cryptic post following Dillon Gabriel's commitment
Ty Thompson shared a cryptic tweet following the news that the Oregon Ducks landed an elite quarterback in the transfer portal.

The picture Thompson posted shows him walking away from a rack of Oregon helmets. At first it was unclear if Thompson is saying Gilbert will have to beat him out for the job, or if he’s walking away from Oregon. However, we got out answer soon after when Thompson reportedly entered the transfer portal.

Thompson was a highly touted recruit out of Gilbert, AZ. The QB was a 4-star recruit, per the 247Sports Composite ranking. Since arriving in Eugene, Thompson has attempted just 66 passes for 456 yards, with 6 TDs and 4 INTs.
Oregon will be Gabriel’s 3rd school. The QB spent 3 seasons at UCF and 2 at Oklahoma. With the Sooners, Gabriel developed into an elite college QB. In 2023, Gabriel ended with 3,660 yards, 30 TDs, and 6 INTs.
