Troy Franklin clears 1,000 yards on season with 84-yard touchdown against USC
Troy Franklin had the USC defender looking in the complete opposite direction as he raced down the field for an 84-yard touchdown.
Tez Johnson scored on a 77-yarder on Oregon’s first possession against USC Saturday night, a play that marked the longest pass of the season for Oregon. Against the coordinator-less USC defense, that play was topped on the very next drive. Oregon faced a third-and-13 from its own 16. Quarterback Bo Nix hit Franklin on an in-breaking route as USC sagged off and Franklin did the rest.

Oregon’s first two scores came after two plays and then three plays. After giving up 52 points to Washington a week ago and firing defensive coordinator Alex Grinch in the aftermath, many were curious what kind of defense the Trojans would bring to Autzen Stadium.
Didn’t take long to find our answer.
For Franklin, the reception pushed him over 1,000 yards on the season. He entered the day with 946 yards on 58 receptions. He becomes the first Oregon receiver to post a 1,000-yard season since Dillon Mitchell in 2018 and he’s just the second since 2014.
