Sabrina Ionescu put together a historic performance at the WNBA All-Star Weekend on Friday night.

Ionescu scored 37 out of a possible 40 points in the final round of the WNBA’s 3-point contest. That broke the previous record for most points scored in a WNBA or NBA 3-point contest, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

She made 25-of-27 3-pointers, including a pair of shots from “Starry Range” that are positioned well beyond the arc. At one point in her run, Ionescu hit 20 shots in a row. She missed one shot on Rack 1 and the money-ball (worth 2 points) on Rack 4.

Craig Hodges holds the NBA record for most made 3-pointers in contest history. He hit 21-of-25 attempts in 1991.

Ionescu is in her 4th season in the WNBA with the New York Liberty. She was selected as an All-Star this year for the 2nd straight season.

So far this year, Ionescu is averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest. She has helped lead the Liberty to a 14-4 start, which is good enough for 1st place in the Eastern Conference at the All-Star Break.
