Royce Freeman, former Oregon RB, signs with new NFL team
Former Oregon running back Royce Freeman was signed by the Los Angeles Rams Sunday afternoon, just a day after Sony Michel announced his retirement.
Freeman has been in the league since 2018 after being drafted 71st overall by the Denver Broncos. He exploded onto the scene and had solid rookie and sophomore seasons in Denver but has struggled in the 4 seasons since. Last year Freeman totaled 41 rushes for 117 yards with the Texans.
Since 2020, Freeman has totaled 390 rushing yards with 0 rushing touchdowns (32 total games). In 2019, Freeman rushed for 496 yards with 3 touchdowns. Freeman joins a Broncos roster that features Cam Akers and Kyren Williams following Michel’s surprise retirement.

As you can see by the names listed above, Freeman absolutely has a chance in front of him to make it back to a true rotational basis in the NFL.
