Rodrick Pleasant, a 4-star defensive back out of Gardena, California, (Junipero Serra) announced a commitment to play in the Pac-12.

Pleasant chose Oregon after he narrowed his list to Boston College, Cal, Oregon, UCLA and USC, with the Ducks and Trojans at the top of the list. Pleasant is the No. 9 cornerback in the country, and the No. 7 player in state of California, according to the 247Sports Composite.

“I have a great relationship with the coaches and they really recruited me hard throughout this process,” Pleasant told 247Sports. “I felt really connected with the staff and not just one or two coaches but everyone there.”

While several coaches were involved in his recruitment, including Dan Lanning, Tosh Lupoi and Rashad Wadood, Pleasant said a personal connection stood out. He used to run track against DB coach Demetrice Martin’s son, so he’s recruited Pleasant since Pleasant was a freshman.

Speaking of track, Pleasant is a top sprinter and his 10.14 in the 100 meter and 20.40 in the 200 meter times are the fastest returning times in the country.
