Oregon wide receiver reportedly plans to enter transfer portal
Oregon wide receiver Ashton Cozart plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens next Monday, according to multiple reports.
Cozart is a first-year player for the Ducks after signing as a 4-star recruit from Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus in the 2023 class. He’s believed to be the first Oregon player so far this cycle to opt for the portal.

Cozart did not see the field this season for the Ducks. He’ll depart Eugene as a redshirt freshman with all four years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-3 Cozart will also be able to play right away at his next school as he’s a first-time transfer.
Cozart was ranked as the No. 226 overall prospect in the class, as well as the No. 32 wideout and the No. 39 recruit from the state of Texas. He held offers from nearly half the Power Five, including four other Pac-12 programs and nine SEC programs.
Oregon was incredibly deep at receiver this season, but the top of the depth chart dominated production. Troy Franklin and Tez Johnson were outstanding. Gary Bryant Jr. and Traeshon Holden filled roles in behind them. There wasn’t much of an opportunity for the youngsters to see the field outside of garbage time; 5-star signee Jurrion Dickey still has not recorded a catch on the season.
The 2024 class currently includes three known commitments from wide receivers, with a pair of 4-star/top-200 prospects in Dillon Gresham and Jordan Anderson.
