Oregon is looking to pull the No. 1 recruit from the state of Ohio away from the hometown Buckeyes and over to the West Coast.

And the Ducks are still in the mix. Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville cornerback Bryce West revealed his Top 7 on Wednesday, and he has coach Dan Lanning’s Oregon program listed alongside Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas A&M. West is a top-50 recruit in the 2024 cycle and viewed as one of the best corners available.

The Buckeyes are viewed as the team to beat in West’s recruitment. Ohio State has two Crystal Balls logged in its favor on 247Sports. He’ll visit Michigan this upcoming weekend, then take official visits to USC and Ohio State the following two weeks.

In the industry-generated 247 Composite, the 5-foot-11 West ranks as the No. 43 overall recruit. He’s the No. 4 corner and the top-ranked prospect from Ohio. He’s a consensus 4-star recruit.

As a junior last fall, he was named an All-American by MaxPreps after going the entire year without allowing a touchdown reception. He intercepted four passes for a Glenville team that went 15-0 and captured its first state title. West also runs track and holds a personal best time of 10.93 seconds in the 100m.

Oregon is in on several high-profile corner prospects as position coach Demetrice Martin looks for another budding star to pair with 4-star commit Ify Obidegwu.
