Oregon is up to No. 6 in the latest AP Top 25, released on Sunday.

The Ducks moved up two spots in the new media poll after blasting Utah on the road in Week 9. Led by three touchdowns from Bo Nix and another dominant defensive effort, Oregon won 35-6 to move to 7-1 on the season (4-1 Pac-12).

Oregon is joined by No. 5 Washington, No. 16 Oregon State, No. 18 Utah, No. 20 UCLA, and No. 24 USC in the latest poll.

The Ducks appear to be sitting pretty as the first College Football Playoff rankings reveal of the season draws near. The selection committee will release its first batch of rankings on Tuesday. With its only loss this season being on the road against a top-10 Washington team, Oregon has nary a flaw in its résumé. The win over Utah will also be huge down the stretch.

Opponents going into Rice-Eccles Stadium had lost 18 straight games. Oregon snapped that streak, and now it gets to close out the regular season with three of four at home. With a game against USC in a couple of weeks, Oregon controls its destiny in the Pac-12 title race, which also means it controls its fate in the Playoff picture.

Winning out could very likely land the Ducks in the CFP.

That’s still a ways away, though. Up next, Oregon will host Cal (2:30 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Network).
