Oregon sees three players head for transfer portal on opening day
Oregon lost three players to the transfer portal Monday morning when it officially opened.
Defensive backs Bryan Addison and Daymon David are leaving the program, as is wide receiver Kris Hutson, according to multiple reports. Addison shared the news on his personal social media as well.
Addison played in the first four games this year for the Ducks before it was revealed he was away from the team for personal reasons.
A top-100 recruit in the 2018 class, Addison took a redshirt season his first year with the program. In 2019, he played in all 14 games with six starts. He played in six of Oregon’s seven games in 2020 after making the move from wide receiver to defensive back. During the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Addison played in 25 of the Ducks’ 27 games.
His Oregon career will end with 51 career tackles, one tackle for loss, 10 pass breakups, four interceptions, one forced fumble, 19 receptions for 215 yards, and one receiving touchdown.
Hutson spent four seasons with the Ducks. He played in all seven games as a true freshman in 2020, then played in all 27 games over the next two seasons. Across his first three years with the team, Hutson made 79 receptions for 928 yards and two touchdowns.
This season, he appeared in only five games while making just one catch for 8 yards.
David is in his third season with the program. He played in nine games as a true freshman in 2021 and then played in each of the team’s final 12 games last season. Coach Dan Lanning mentioned injuries as a deterrent this fall, as David has been limited to just two appearances. He has 13 career tackles and a pass breakup.
Oregon has now lost four players to the transfer portal this cycle, with wideout Ashton Cozart being the fourth.
