On Friday, Oregon landed its second pledge for the 2023 class.

Layton (Utah) Christian Academy defensive tackle Tevita Pome’e, announced the news during a ceremony at his school ahead of a bigger luau celebration event, according to 247Sports. He chose Oregon over a list of offers that included Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon State, USC, and Washington.

Pome’e is the nation’s 71st-ranked defensive lineman and seventh-best prospect in the state of Utah for the 2023 class, per the industry-generated 247 Composite. A 3-star, Pome’e has good size already for an interior defensive lineman, standing 6-foot-3 and 315 pounds.

“I just love (defensive line coach Tony) Tuioti’s energy and how he teaches the game,” Pome’e told 247Sports. “I really liked Utah and Oregon State too but just felt great about Oregon and am excited to be committed.”

He joins 4-star corner Cole Martin in the Ducks’ class as the spring evaluation period draws near.
