Oregon scores major transfer commitment from former Alabama defensive back
Oregon got great news on Sunday. At a position of need, the Ducks scored one of the top available players from the transfer portal.
Former Alabama corner Khyree Jackson announced his commitment to Oregon on social media Sunday morning. Jackson will join the program after two years at Alabama, and he’ll have one season of eligibility to play.

A 6-foot-3, 197-pound corner, Jackson played in nine games for the Crimson Tide this season. He also made one start (vs. Texas), recording seven tackles and a tackle for loss. Jackson earned the Tide’s special teams player of the week for his play in the home opener against Utah State.
In two seasons, he made a total of 21 appearances and 14 tackles.
The Upper Marlboro, Maryland native made his way to Tuscaloosa after stops at Fort Scott Community College in 2019 and then East Mississippi Community College in 2020. As a JUCO recruit in the 2021 class, he was rated as a 4-star prospect and the fourth-best junior college recruit in the cycle by the industry-generated 247 Composite.
Oregon’s top cornerback this season, Christian Gonzalez, has already declared for the 2023 NFL Draft, leaving behind a secondary that was one of the Pac-12’s poorest in defending the pass this season. Big plays in the pass game killed the Ducks, particularly in a 37-34 home loss to Washington.
Jackson will look to contend with Dontae Manning, Trikweze Bridges, and Jahlil Florence for starting spots in the defense next season.
