“The memories and relationships that I made at the University of Oregon are gonna stick with me for a lifetime,” he wrote in a Twitter post. “I would like to thank Coach Dan Lanning and Coach Klemm and the rest of the coaching staff for believing in me and supporting me. I want to especially thank Lani for helping me through this rehab process and working with me day in and day out.
“… To the fans, it leaves a sick feeling in my stomach that I wasn’t able to play in front of you guys due to unlikely circumstances. Oregon will always play a huge role in my life and I can honestly say that I left my heart in Oregon.”
Denis did not play for the Ducks as a true freshman, and then saw his redshirt freshman season this past year taken away by injury. He was a 4-star recruit coming out of 2020 class, per the 247 Composite. He was rated as the 14th-best guard prospect in his class.
