Oregon held its spot once again as the highest-ranked one-loss team in the new College Football Playoff rankings.

The CFP selection committee unveiled its updated rankings following Week 12 on ESPN Tuesday night. Oregon held the No. 6 spot for the fourth consecutive week.

There was change ahead of the Ducks, though. The selection committee finally swapped Washington and Florida State, awarding the No. 4 spot in the rankings to the Huskies after they defeated Oregon State in Corvallis last Saturday 22-20. The Huskies are in the field for now, and that could serve Oregon well if it were to win out.

Beat the Beavers at Autzen Stadium on Friday and the Ducks will set up a rematch with UW in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

If Oregon enters that game at 11-1, after spending the entire back-half of the season as the highest-ranked one-loss team, and then beats a Washington team the committee has already deemed Playoff-caliber, one would have to think Oregon is getting into the four-team field come Selection Sunday.

That can get derailed, obviously, if Washington stumbles this weekend against Washington State in the Apple Cup. And coach Dan Lanning will need to keep his team focused on the present. Oregon lost to Oregon State last season 38-34 in Corvallis, a result that knocked the Ducks out of the conference title game then.

Avoiding the same trip-up this time is top priority this week. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. PT (FOX) on Friday.
