Oregon provides injury updates for N'Faly Dante, Nate Bittle
Oregon announced on Friday that both big men N’Faly Dante and Nate Bittle have undergone surgery and will miss extended time.
According to the Ducks, Dante had surgery on his knee and will be re-evaluated in four weeks. Bittle had surgery on his wrist and will be re-evaluated in eight weeks. Dante has played in one game this season while Bittle has played in three.
Oregon is also currently without freshmen Jackson Shelstad and Mookie Cook. Against Florida A&M on Monday, Oregon won 67-54 despite having only eight healthy scholarship players. The Ducks are 5-0 to begin the season.
Dante hasn’t played since the opener, when he scored 16 points and grabbed 21 rebounds to help Oregon beat Georgia 82-71.
Bittle played 29 minutes against Montana on Nov. 10, scoring 17 points with eight rebounds and four blocked shots. He and Dante started alongside each other in the opener.
Against Florida A&M, the Ducks started guards Keeshawn Barthelemy, Jermaine Couisnard, Jesse Zarzuela, and Jadrian Tracey. Kwame Evans Jr. started but played just 17 minutes. Mahamadou Diawara played 20 minutes off the bench.
Oregon plays Santa Clara in the Emerald Coast Classic Friday night.
