Oregon will soon learn whether its efforts to pry blue-chip Ohio cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. away from the hometown Buckeyes paid off.

Scott, a 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback from Springfield, will reveal his college decision on July 30. That’s according to On3’s Chad Simmons. Scott is deciding between Oregon, Ohio State, and Michigan. The Top 5 he revealed at the beginning of June also featured Penn State and Tennessee, so it appears Oregon survived one final cut.

Defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin is looking to pull out another major recruitment at the position and pair Scott with Ify Obidegwu in the 2024 class.

Scott ranks as the No. 53 overall recruit in the 2024 class by the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s also the No. 2 prospect from the state of Ohio and the No. 5 corner in the class.

He finished his junior season with 21 tackles, five interceptions, three tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery. Two of Scott’s picks were returned for scores.
