Oregon opens as slimmest of favorites over Utah in key Week 12 clash
A year ago, Utah bullied the Oregon Ducks twice in the span of 13 days. A Nov. 20 regular-season contest at Rice-Eccles Stadium went to the Utes, 38-7. Then the two sides met again in Las Vegas for the conference title, and Utah rolled to a 38-10 win for its first Pac-12 crown.
This season, the regular-season meeting between the Utes and the Ducks will once again have Pac-12 title implications. And if Oregon was already bringing some emotion to the table given the way last year’s results went, it’ll be even angrier given the way last Saturday’s game went.
But the Utes are bringing something to the matchup as well: momentum. Coach Kyle Whittingham’s group is rolling, winners of four straight and back-to-back by 25 points or more.
As such, Vegas has made the Week 12 contest a virtual pick ’em.
Oregon opened as a one-point favorite. The over/under was set at 55.5, according to Circa Sports.

Early trends at FanDuel (where the spread is Oregon -3) have the majority of the money placed on Utah so far.
The under has hit in five of Utah’s 10 games this season and in four of Oregon’s.
The Utes have been favored in every other game so far this season, and they’re 6-4 against the spread — a perfect 6-0 when favored by double-digits and 0-4 in all other contests.
Oregon is 7-3 against the spread. The Ducks closed as double-digit favorites at home this past Saturday over Washington, but lost 37-34 in a back-and-forth contest that saw quarterback Bo Nix briefly leave the game due to injury.
Kickoff at Autzen Stadium between the 10th-ranked Utes (8-2, 6-1 Pac-12) and the 12th-ranked Ducks (8-2, 6-1 Pac-12) is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
