Oregon defensive back Trikweze Bridges has entered the transfer portal.

“Being a part of the Oregon family has been an honor and a privilege. The unwavering support from the fan base has been amazing, and I am grateful for the energy and enthusiasm you bring to every game,” Bridges said in a thoughtful message shared on social media. “To the coaching staff, I am grateful for the guidance and mentorship you have provided. Thank you for not only helping me develop my skills as an athlete but also helping me develop into the young man I am today. I have learned valuable lessons that will stay with me throughout my life, and I am proud to have been coached by such a dedicated and talented team.

“Thank you once again for everything Duck Nation. I am proud to have been a part of the Oregon family and Oregon will always have a special place in my heart. Once a Duck, always a Duck.”

The 6-foot-3 Alabama native spent five seasons with the Ducks and will have one season of eligibility remaining. Bridges started all 13 games for the Ducks last season, but had a much smaller role this fall.

He has played in all 13 games, but has seen a little more than 200 snaps on defense, according to Pro Football Focus. Sophomore Jahlil Florence and Alabama transfer Khyree Jackson opened the season as the Ducks’ starting cornerbacks and, outside of injuries, haven’t given anyone else much playing time.

Bridges has been credited with 16 tackles, three pass breakups, and 0.5 tackles for loss this season. He’s also made his mark on special teams since having his defensive role diminished.

Last season, Bridges started at corner opposite Christian Gonzalez and finished with 49 tackles, eight pass breakups, three interceptions, and a forced fumble. He ends his Oregon career with 93 total tackles, 13 pass breakups, and four picks.

Bridges is the sixth Oregon player to enter the portal since it opened on Monday. All of the Ducks’ entrants have been either wideouts or defensive backs. Ashton Cozart, Kris Hutson, Josh Delgado, Daymon David, and Bryan Addison are the others.
