The Ducks got better, deeper, and more experienced in the trenches on Thursday.
Sam “Taki” Taimani has committed to transfer to Oregon. The former Washington Husky announced the news on Twitter.

Taimani led all Husky defensive lineman in tackles this past season with 43 stops. The 6-foot-2, 330-pound Utah native brings a wealth of Pac-12 experience to the table as well. Taimani has appeared in 28 of Washington’s last 29 games.
After a redshirt year in 2018, he played in every game as a sophomore, each of UW’s four 2020 games and then made 10 starts this season. He missed only the Arizona game with an injury.
Taimani was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school and held offers to numerous Power Five programs. With Popo Aumavae announcing his return to Eugene for 2022, the Ducks should have a pretty significant one-two punch in the middle of the defensive line.
He’ll have two years of eligibility for the Ducks.
