Oregon added a big one to its 2024 class on Saturday.

Elite tackle prospect JacQawn McRoy revealed live on the 247Sports YouTube page he has given his verbal commitment to Dan Lanning and the Ducks. The 6-foot-8, 365-pound lineman from Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville picked the Ducks from a nearly all-SEC group of finalists that also included Arkansas, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. He’s viewed as a top-100 recruit this cycle by 247 Sports.

He’s the fourth known commitment for the Ducks along the offensive line in this 2024 recruiting cycle, joining Washington 4-star Fox Crader and in-state 3-stars Trent Ferguson and Devin Brooks. McRoy capped a busy June with an official visit to Eugene last weekend. Earlier in the month, he took weekend officials to his other three finalists.

The Ducks got the last pitch, and the Ducks closed.

McRoy is a 4-star in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s ranked as the No. 171 overall recruit, the No. 12 tackle, and the No. 11 prospect from the state of Alabama.

The folks at 247Sports are much higher on him, ranking him 59th overall and third at his position.

Either way, it’s a huge pickup for the Ducks, who have proven capable of reeling in major offensive line targets under Lanning. You can see his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
