Oregon lands commitment from elite OL in class of 2025
Oregon picked up a key commitment in the class of 2025 on Friday afternoon.
The Ducks earned a pledge from offensive line prospect Chavez “Sandman” Thompson. He’s a Florida native and has offers from several elite programs across the country.
Here’s Thompson’s announcement:

Thompson attends Eau Gallie High School in Melbourne, Florida. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 270 pounds.
He chose Oregon over offers from programs such as Tennessee, Florida State and Kentucky. It’s still early in the 2025 cycle, so Thompson is likely to receiver offers from more programs as he continues to develop.
Thompson does not currently have a 247Sports Composite rating. However, that’s likely to change in the coming months as recruiting services do more evaluations on prospects in the class of 2025.
Thompson is the 2nd prospect to commit to Oregon in the class of 2025. He joins 4-star receiver Dallas Wilson, who is also a Florida native.
Here are some highlights from Thompson’s sophomore year:
