Oregon added a key piece to its 2024 recruiting class on Sunday morning.

The Ducks landed a commitment from 4-star safety prospect Kingston Lopa. He had received interest from some of the top programs in the country, including Tennessee, Notre Dame and Texas.

Here’s his announcement:

Lopa is a major addition for Oregon. He’s the No. 359 overall player and the No. 33 safety in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 29 player from the state of California.

His commitment to Oregon comes on the heels of his official visit to Eugene. He initially received an offer from the Ducks back in May of 2022.

He attends Grant Union High School in Sacramento, California. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 190 pounds.

Oregon now has 17 commits in the class of 2024, with 11 of those being blue-chip prospects. The group ranks No. 5 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
