Oregon remained at No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.

The CFP selection committee revealed its updated rankings Tuesday night live on ESPN. The top eight spots all remained unchanged from a week ago, which means Ohio State still led the ranking, Washington was still right on the edge of the field at No. 5, and Oregon remained the committee’s highest-ranked one-loss team.

After demolishing Cal at home last Saturday, Oregon is building a case as one of the sport’s very best teams.

The Ducks have won three straight since losing to Washington by three on the road. During that stretch, Oregon has outscored its opponents 136-49. That included a 63-19 win over Cal and a 35-6 win over Utah in Salt Lake City the week prior. Quarterback Bo Nix is playing like a legitimate contender to bring home the Heisman Trophy, and Oregon is getting balanced play from all over the field.

Coach Dan Lanning was asked after the Cal game to give his reaction to the Ducks’ initial ranking.

“No reaction,” he responded. “Just win.”

The Ducks’ path to the Playoff would appear to remain a simple one. Win, and you’re in. The Ducks can knock USC out of the conference title race this upcoming weekend. Kickoff from Autzen Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on FOX. On the final week of the regular season, Oregon will host Oregon State — which moved up to No. 12 in the new CFP rankings.

Should the Ducks get to Las Vegas, they could set up a rematch with Washington in what would, in all likelihood, be a CFP play-in game.

November football — and all the pressure it brings — has arrived.
