Oregon edge rusher announces plans to enter transfer portal
The steady stream of departures for Oregon continued on Thursday with the news that sophomore edge rusher Bradyn Swinson intends to enter the transfer portal.
The news was first reported by The Oregonian’s James Crepea and then later confirmed by Swinson in a string of social media posts. Swinson will depart Eugene after three seasons and 30 appearances.
A former 3-star recruit, Swinson totaled 35 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks throughout his career. He had eight tackles and three TFLs this season for the Ducks.
He saw sporadic playing time throughout the season, getting his most extensive action in blowout wins over Eastern Washington, BYU, Stanford, and Colorado. Over the last three weeks of the season, Swinson played just a dozen snaps on defense and did not see the field against Oregon State.
The 6-foot-4, 233-pound defender came to Oregon in the 2020 class from Douglasville, Georgia. He joins Seven McGee, Dont’e Thornton, Byron Cardwell, and Jay Butterfield, as Ducks who have already publicly revealed their intention to enter the transfer portal. The new window opens on Dec. 5.
