Oregon earns commitment from 2023 California offensive lineman
Oregon added to its 2023 recruiting class Friday night with a commitment from a rising offensive lineman out of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei. Lipe Moala, a 6-foot-6, 330-pound interior offensive lineman, announced his verbal commitment to the Ducks shortly before his high school’s Friday night game.

Moala took an unofficial visit to Oregon two weeks ago — in town to see the Ducks stomp Stanford 45-27 — and walked away with a scholarship offer. He missed his junior season of high school ball, but his senior season tape has been impressive enough for the offers to start rolling in. Alongside Oregon, Moala has earned scholarship offers from Washington, Utah, Louisville, Colorado State, and San Diego State.
He doesn’t yet have a rating in the industry-generated 247 Composite, though that’ll change soon now that he’s part of a Power Five class. The folks at 247Sports have Moala listed as a 3-star prospect and the 83rd overall interior offensive lineman. He’s the 20th known commitment for Oregon’s 2023 class.
