Oregon has its second verbal 2024 commitment. The first came from one of the top prospects in Oregon. The second comes from one of the best in Washington.

Vancouver (Wash.) Evergreen offensive tackle Fox Crader announced his commitment to the Ducks on social media on Monday. A 4-star lineman who has seen his stock explode throughout his junior year, Crader chose the Ducks over offers from USC, Washington, Miami, Washington State, and Oregon State, among others.

The 6-foot-6, 275-pound Crader ranks as the 23rd-best tackle prospect in the 2024 class and the seventh-best recruit from the state of Washington. He’s the 343rd-ranked overall recruit in the class, according to the industry-generated 247 Composite.

Brandon Huffman, a national recruiting editor for 247Sports, likes the potential for the young man to continue to improve as he fills out his frame:

Crader is a player who made a big jump from his sophomore season to his junior campaign. With a basketball background, he’s got the length, feet and frame you’d like in a tackle and probably adds another 20-30 pounds in college with relative ease to fill out that frame. Crader plays left tackle and shows good flexibility, a natural knee bend, change of direction and body control. His play strength is already solid but as he continues to add more strength and muscle, shoudl be even better in college. He’s good in pass protection and stout in run blocking. Crader just needs to maintain consistency in all phases of blocking and the sky is the limit.

As Oregon has ripped off nine wins in Dan Lanning’s first 11 games at the program’s helm, the offensive line has played a crucial role in its success. With a bevy of seniors up front, Lanning and his staff are placing a significant emphasis on replenishing talent at the line of scrimmage via recruiting.

The Ducks signed the top-ranked tackle prospect in the 2022 class. They’re still in the mix for the top-ranked tackle prospect in the 2023 class and already have verbal commitments from four other offensive linemen in the cycle. Now, they’re on the board for 2024 with a player who should continue to rise in the class rankings.
