Justin Herbert left the Chargers-Broncos game in the first half on Sunday evening with what the team is calling a finger injury.

Herbert is questionable to return to the game in the second half, per the team. Easton Stick replaced Herbert for the Chargers’ final drive of the first half.

The injury appeared to happen on this play:

It was a rough half for Herbert, just as it’s been for much of the 2023 season. He went 9-of-17 for 96 yards and 1 interception before exiting the game with an injury. His interception helped setup the Broncos for their lone touchdown of the first half.

The Chargers entered this game with a 5-7 record and waning playoff hopes. Herbert has thrown for 3,038 yards, 20 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 12 games entering this divisional showdown vs. the Broncos.

Stick has been with the Chargers since being picked in the 5th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He has 1 pass attempt, which came back in 2020, in his career prior to this game.

The Broncos kicked a field goal with just a few seconds remaining before halftime to take a 10-0 lead into the break.
