You’ve seen the Denzel Washington GIF a time or two. You know, the one pulled out of the 1998 film Fallen? Washington is looking concerned, then leans back in his chair as he clutches his chest and flashes a smile as relief washes over his face. It’s the visual representation of the phrase, “Thank goodness.”

That single GIF represented everyone in Eugene on Wednesday.

Justin Flowe, after missing practice on Tuesday, was back on the field Wednesday. As you were.

Flowe was on the field for just 14 snaps last Saturday against Eastern Washington. It was believed that was just a function of the game getting out of hand fast.

No one on the defense played more than 33 snaps. With Oregon’s offense scoring touchdowns every time it possessed the ball, the Ducks got the opportunity to rotate a number of different personnel groupings onto the field. According to Pro Football Focus, 35 defensive players saw at least one snap.

When it comes to the enthusiastic former 5-star linebacker, everyone’s waiting on the edge of their seat when his name pops up.

Prior to the start of the new year, he’d played in just two games in two seasons for Oregon. Injuries forced him to wait on the sidelines. He was limited in the spring, but went through fall camp 100%, itching to get on the field for real. So far this season, Flowe has a team-leading 12 tackles.
