Junior Adams is getting his first look at wide receiver Jurrion Dickey as an Oregon Duck in training camp. So far, there’s a lot to like about the former 5-star prospect and key freshman.

Speaking to the media Friday, Adams said Dickey has been great so far in training camp. In particular, Dickey is playing fast and asking good questions while in meetings:

“Jurrion’s doing good. It’s Jurrion, man,” said Adams with a smile. “If you know Jurrion, he’s pretty fun. I think he’s doing a good job, he’s doing a good job in meetings. He’s asking questions, he’s taking notes. Obviously making the transition from high school to college, he’s learning how to practice, but he’s doing good. Made plays, running around, playing fast.”

When Dickey suits up this fall, fans will also see something a bit unexpected with the WR donning No. 99. Asked about how he came to have that number, Adams said it was simply a request of Dickey. However, it is the first time Adams has coached a WR wearing the 99 jersey.

Jurrion Dickey’s outlook

Dickey arrived in Eugene as the marquee player in Oregon’s 2023 recruiting class. The 5-star prospect out of California was the No. 21 player in the cycle and the No. 2 WR nationally per the 247 Sports Composite.

We’ll see when Dickey makes an impact, but he should have a chance to see the field right away in 2023.
