Joel Klatt is a big believer in the Oregon Ducks.

This past weekend, Oregon went on the road to Rice-Eccles Stadium and beat Utah 35-6. The Ducks out-gained the Utes 390 to 241 in total yardage and took a big step toward the College Football Playoff. Klatt, who was on the call for the game, came away impressed.

“I’m going to be surprised if Oregon doesn’t win the Pac-12,” Klatt said on his podcast, The Joel Klatt Show. “I will be surprised if Oregon is not in the CFP. That’s how impressed I am with this Oregon team.”

This season, Oregon is 7-1 and 4-1 in conference play. The Ducks’ only loss this year came in a close game against the Washington Huskies, where Oregon fell 36-33 on the road. They also have a Heisman Trophy candidate at quarterback with Bo Nix.

Nix has led an offense that is averaging 45.5 points per game.

“I love their schemes and their schematics, yes,” Klatt said on his podcast. “But it’s more about the way that he operates them that makes me so impressed. He’s so efficient with the ball. … It’s ridiculous the efficiency that he plays with.”

Oregon faces off against Cal this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Network.
