Jahlil Florence was a 4-star member of Oregon’s 2022 recruiting class. He played well in limited action as a backup this fall.

While hundreds of players around the country enter the NCAA transfer portal this week, Florence is bucking the trend.

On Tuesday morning, Florence took to Twitter to reveal that he was sticking around in Eugene ahead of the 2023 season:

Florence, a native of San Diego, recorded 8 tackles (1 for a loss), 1 interception and 1 forced fumble in 2022.

He figures to be in line for a bigger role in Oregon’s bowl game. The Ducks will participate in the Holiday Bowl against North Carolina. That game is in San Diego, so Florence will have a chance to play in front of friends and family, it seems.

Then, starting in 2023, the future is bright for the former 4-star recruit who is showing his loyalty to the Ducks, head coach Dan Lanning and the rest of the coaching staff.
