Jackson Powers-Johnson was selected to the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) All-America First Team on Monday. Star Oregon wideout Troy Franklin was also named to the FWAA All-America Second Team.

Oregon was one of 12 FBS schools to have multiple selections across the two FWAA teams, joined by Washington as the only other Pac-12 program.

After being announced as a Walter Camp first-team All-American on Friday, Powers-Johnson has now been named to the First Team for the first two of the five official outlets that determine consensus and unanimous All-American distinctions. Powers-Johnson would earn consensus All-America status if he is named to the first team by one of the Associated Press, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), or the Sporting News. If he’s a first-team selection for all three of the remaining outlets, Oregon’s standout center would become the fifth unanimous All-American in program history.

Powers-Johnson joins Penei Sewell (2019), Jake Fisher (2014), and Steve Barnett (1962) as the only Oregon offensive linemen ever to be named FWAA first-team All-Americans.

He’s also the first Pac-12 player ever to win the Rimington Trophy. Fitting considering the season he has had for the Ducks. According to Pro Football Focus, Powers-Johnson has the highest pass-blocking grade (91.3), run-blocking grade (85.2), and overall grade (84.6) of any FBS center.

In nearly 500 snaps as a pass-blocker this season, he has allowed just one quarterback pressure.

Franklin is the first Oregon wide receiver since 1997 to be named a first- or second-team All-American by any official outlet, according to a release from the Ducks. He is also the first receiver in program history to land on an FWAA All-America team (first selected in 1944).

The program’s all-time leader in single-season receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and 100-yard receiving games, Franklin has been one of the most reliable receivers in the country. He’s tied for second nationally with 14 touchdown receptions entering the postseason.
