Dowdell was ranked as the No. 135 overall prospect in the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite ranking. Dowdell was the No. 3 prospect out of Mississippi and the No. 6 running back in the class. In his one-and-only season with the Ducks, Dowdell took 17 carries for 90 yards and 1 TD.

The RB becomes the 3rd player in the portal to commit to the Huskers thus far. Dowdell joins wide receiver Isaiah Neyor and cornerback Blye Hill. Dowdell joins a Husker’s RB room that features veterans Gabe Ervin Jr. and Rahmir Johnson, who are both coming off of season-ending injuries. The team also rosters Emmett Johnson and Kwinten Ives.

As for Oregon, the Ducks have already earned a commitment from transfer running back Jay Harris to help replace Bucky Irving in 2024.
