Former Oregon RB Dante Dowdell announces transfer to B1G program
Former Oregon running back Dante Dowdell committed to Nebraska on Saturday evening.
Dowdell will head to Lincoln to bolster the Husker’s backfield.

Dowdell was ranked as the No. 135 overall prospect in the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite ranking. Dowdell was the No. 3 prospect out of Mississippi and the No. 6 running back in the class. In his one-and-only season with the Ducks, Dowdell took 17 carries for 90 yards and 1 TD.
The RB becomes the 3rd player in the portal to commit to the Huskers thus far. Dowdell joins wide receiver Isaiah Neyor and cornerback Blye Hill. Dowdell joins a Husker’s RB room that features veterans Gabe Ervin Jr. and Rahmir Johnson, who are both coming off of season-ending injuries. The team also rosters Emmett Johnson and Kwinten Ives.
As for Oregon, the Ducks have already earned a commitment from transfer running back Jay Harris to help replace Bucky Irving in 2024.
