Oregon is reportedly adding a veteran offensive line assistant to Dan Lanning’s coaching staff. Former Arizona State assistant Mike Cavanaugh will be joining the Ducks in a support staff position.

Cavanaugh’s role with Oregon will be as an analyst and assistant to Ducks offensive line coach A’lique Terry, per On3’s Matt Zenitz. Terry is entering his first season with the program.

Cavanaugh has been coaching for more than 35 years, getting his start in 1986 as a graduate assistant at Albany. He spent the past 2 seasons at Arizona State as offensive line coach. The Sun Devils underwent a coaching change in 2022, firing Herm Edwards and hiring Kenny Dillingham.

Cavanaugh was with the San Diego Chargers from 1997-98. From 1999-2022, he was an offensive line coach in the college ranks at Hawaii (1999-2004), Oregon State (2005-14), Nebraska (2015-17), Syracuse (2018-21) and Arizona State (2021-22).
