ESPN's SP+ predicts the score of Oregon's game against Colorado
With eighth-ranked Oregon Ducks winners of seven straight, dreams of what this season can potentially be are starting to take shape. The offense has scored at least 41 points in each of the last seven games. Quarterback Bo Nix is playing at a Heisman level. First-year head coach Dan Lanning is pressing all the right buttons.
And the train probably won’t slow down this week against lowly Colorado.
Bill Connelly’s SP+ model is calling for a 48-15 Oregon win.
The predictive model gives Oregon a 97% chance to win the game. It was slow to take on the Ducks earlier this year, but has the Ducks ranked seventh in the country entering Week 10.
Oregon (7-1, 5-0 Pac-12) travels to Boulder to take on Colorado (1-7, 1-4 Pac-12) at 12:30 p.m. PT on Saturday. The Buffs picked up their first and only win of the season last month with an overtime stunner of Cal. They’ve generally played more inspired football since Karl Dorrell was fired and interim coach Mike Sanford took over.
Lanning has stressed all season to his Ducks they have to take every week seriously, treat every time on the field as an opportunity to get better.
“Our team still knows that we have better football to play and that’s the approach,” Lanning said this week. “You always like going on the road to prove that you can do it. It’s a lot easier at home. But to go somewhere else and perform at a high level, it takes a lot of focus and attention to detail.”
He was asked what would constitute a successful week and his answer was simple: “Win.”
